NY is a long way from Austin, but I wish I could have been there.

@kai, East of the Sun, West of the Moon? I had a passionate love & hate for that book as a child… an intensity equaled only by my feelings for Townes Van Zandt at that age (10-ish I think) Both have inspired & followed me.

I am immediately in awe because it appears she has tattooed on her arm an image that I have always wanted as a tattoo- an image that is somewhat obscure and singularly meaningful to me in a way that I thought no one else shared (I am always being proven wrong in this belief!)
It is the Kay Neilsen illustration of the girl on the polar bear, the black and white inside drawings from “East of the Sun, West of the Moon.” Wow. The illustrations that made me an artist.

I saw Larkin Grimm open for Michael Gira at a venue in Seattle months ago. It was an amazing show and a magical experience. I was completely captivated all night and promptly went home to try to find everything out I could about Larkin Grimm.

Seeing her perform live is incredible and I highly recommend it.

Thanks for this groovy piece of reportage! I hadn’t heard of Ms. Grimm and didn’t know about the Musicka Mystica Maxima festival.

The Ordo Templi Orientis-USA bills itself as maintaining the teachings of Aleister Crowley through the secretive organization of Freemasonry.
Will the OTO have representatives at the festival? Will Noname Jane, OTO’s porn starlet, be on hand to educate the uninitiated? Will YOU be in NYC (an event in itself)?

Open plea: Does anyone on this blog have an incisive take on the OTO-USA as an organization? Is it cool with its members?
