And I’m no bass player (which is why I’m asking this) but aren’t you supposed to play above that black bridge thing, not on it?
(Violinists call it a bridge, and regardless of the fact that its so thin, you wouldn’t WANT to play on it if you could) maybe it is different for the bass?
