Beyond that it's also wonderfully creative in how it uses space, shapes, and forms in a 3D way. I don't think they would be as good as flat illustrations or paintings. Though some will argue the wood grain backgrounds are becoming a bit cliche at this point (and they would be WRONG) it comes alive much better here than in other works I've seen. It feels like part of the work not just a cool or pretentious background. I adore the color in that first image.
