CP 1919 Woolen Cape

Other purists may throw rocks at me for saying this, but… REALLY, REALLY WANT:

UNKNOWNPLEZZORRZ
(Via Darla Teagarden.)

MMMNNGGHPH. Browns, why must you insist upon torturing a grubby, low-rent gal like me with that ridiculous price tag?!

Related anecdote: A snarky acquaintance of mine back in NYC used to enjoy cornering club-going trustifarians who dared to don the “Unknown Pleasures” tee and making them squirm by demanding that they explain the image they were wearing. If their answer wasn’t knowledgeable enough to his liking, he’d trap them against the DJ booth and deliver lengthy lectures on pulsar theory, the film Stroszeck, or cocaine-in-a-condom drug mule death statistics.

(Annoying as he was, I kinda miss that dude.)

(And yes, I realize it looks a little bit like one of those cheesy reversible “stadium rock” souvenir towels. I still want one. Can’t be helped.)

    Oh nooo..
Now our winters will seem especially cold without this cape to wrap ’round us..
Why, Mer, why? You realize you have opened a portal of insatiable wool-want, right? £870.00, hmm? The pain!

I totally thought it WAS a towel at first but man, it would be the coolest towel EVAR. I’d rock it. Also! http://www.brownsfashion.com/product/fashion/womens/dresses/032E09430011.htm

    Coolest Renaissance costume ever. :D

A bit ingenuous that. I totally missed what it was until I saw the vid snapshot below it. I think I like this more than I should though and that worries me cause I am not cool enough to get away with a sporting a cape.

OMG…I saw this line, there is a backpack too! I nearly doubled over when Urban Outfitters came out with the T-Shirt, but this takes the cake! All hipster hell broke loose after the documentary about Ian Curtis came out. Some jerk even stole his gravestone! But I feel you…the cape is covetable for sure! I wrote a blog for Haute Macabre that you might get a kick out of: http://hautemacabre.com/2009/04/nothing-sacred/

    love & magick,
