What’s Zo Wearing? December 23, 2007
Just a little longer until the mass hysteria subsides and we can resume our lives. While I do not personally condone babies or Jesus and am thus left cold to the concept of Christmas, I adore New Year’s Eve. Turning of the tides, a symbolic clean slate – the lot of it, I dig. Presents and snow are pretty great as well. I even like seeing sparkling decorated houses but what I do take issue with [besides the ever-present music] is people wearing Santa hats. Just, you know, out. Shopping, driving, what have you. What does it mean?
Yesterday while traversing the already-dangerous terrain of a mall I saw a woman, ahead of me in line, wearing an oddly filthy and balding Santa hat. To her credit she was carrying a coordinating red purse. That unfortunate hat, however, made me think for a moment this was a misguided vagrant robbing the place. Why did she do it? I imagine it as a signal of despair, an S.O.S. flag breaking out of the sea of Christmas psychosis. Or is it a beacon of acceptance? Whatever reason you might have, from a stylistic standpoint I strongly suggest saving the hat until you get to the party if you really must wear one.

OK now you’re just being far too cute for even your own article to handle. I’ve enjoyed the last few of these you’ve done quite a bit and hope they are collected in a book one day…soon at that.
That last pic would make for a fine painting…hmmm…may have to find my old paint brushes.

Tequila: Drew and I have considered a book, but so far I haven’t come up with the perfect presentation concept – I’d hate to make something tedious, yanno?
And, of course, I ‘d love to see what you might come up with. Still love that inter-dimensional nurse portrait you did!

Lady Zo: Well whatever format it takes I’ll certainly support. I still look back on some of the early editions for ideas…even as a reference source for something like character design they’d be helpful. So a book…be it digital or analog would have a wide range of uses beyond just helpful style hints.
Ah, glad you still remember those old B&W drawings…I’ve become much more comfortable with the digital and old skool tools…I’ll have to show you an updated version of that series when its completed next month. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Ooh, those are some extra-classy looking legwarmers there! I’ve come across many crummily-made ones in my endless search for legwear…
Also! I feel like I’ve seem a similar bag in some other WZW, but where’s it from, if you don’t mind?
