Answer: “Idhi Oka Idi Le!”
Just kidding. “Idhi Oka Idi Le” is merely the title of an exuberant duet between classic Tollywood stars Radha and Chiranjeevi (star of that notorious “Indian Thriller” video). Actually, I have no idea what “Idhi Oka Idi Le” means. What I do know is that I’d rather eat a live centipede than watch the “Idhi Oka Idi Le” video while tripping.

Haharrr, yeah I remember this one – my friend and I spent a period recently sending the oddest non-English music videos we could find back and forth to each other in a fairly continuous loop. One of the most recent to pitch up in my inbox was this, which is only notable for two things:
1) the quite jaw-dropping precociousness of it all, and
2) the blonde girl. See, I didn’t find this video particularly amusing at all, until my friend said he reckoned thta “moments before the director yelled ‘action!’, she was roughly shaken awake after a heavy night of binge drinking on a university road trip to Prague, and is now just beginning to approach the point of sobriety where you actually start to give a shit about where you’ve ended up.”

Another quality show, undoubtedly inspired by Hoffman’s Problem Child is Kure Kure Takora, eloquently described on WFMU Beware of the Blog: Kure Kure Takora, aka Gimme Gimme Octopus, an insane 60s Japanese TV show for kids, starring an octopus and a peanut who are in love with the same walrus. However, love stories are notoriously boring, so the creators of this series made the wise decision to drop copious amounts of acid, and to infuse the series with lots of crime, gratuitous violence, and insect repellent. The music is already great, but the episodes themselves are unbelievable. Here are two of them, teaching the kids about private property, violence, and use of mind enhancing substances: Stealing The Dragon’s Mosquito Repellent Which Is Not At All Psychoactive and Fighting With The Dragon to Steal His Book (both approximately 11 meg MP4 files).
Here’s to you, Dr. Hoffman.
