Coilhouse Issue 01 Goes on Sale This Wednesday
We’ll keep this post short, because otherwise it’ll turn giddy. We just want to ask all our readers, everywhere in the world, to visit this site tomorrow (Wednesday) and be part of the biggest day on this blog since it first launched: the unveiling of Coilhouse Magazine, Issue 01. You’ll know what’s inside, and you’ll be able to get your own copy, right here on the site – no matter where you live in the world.
For those just tuning in, the magazine is a print incarnation of the blog: a glossy, 96-page distillation of all the weirdness that we’ve obsessed over together with you in the past 10 months. But it’s not a rehash of the blog. Far from it! Self-quote: experiencing the web version of Coilhouse is like munching on an endless supply of assorted Halloween candy, and reading the print version will be like savoring a richly-decorated French dessert that took hours to prepare.
Okay, so it took almost a year to prepare. It’s a good dessert. There were many, many ingredients. And tomorrow, you’ll get to sample them all.

I bought Coilhouse Issue 01 at the merch table at the Faun Fables show earlier tonight.
Wow. It’s delicious.
Even if you were to totally ignore the textual content within as a visual art object alone the magazine is worth it; the photography, drawings, and even the typesetting is consistently beautiful. The greater image quality and higher resolution print has over web has been taken full advantage of. As for the text I was just as pleased, the segment I think I liked most but was least expecting was an excerpt from a work in progress by one of my favorite science fiction authors.

I prefer to think of it like this…the Blog is that bar you can walk in and have a drink with your friends without hassle. The magazine is that lounge/club you need to dress up for and pay a cover.
Congrats again…look forward to buying a few more copies once I get paid.

I’m so excited about this that myself & the Boy have decided we’re going to have to get a copy each, so we don’t fight over it, and when it arrives, we’re going out somewhere nice for coffee to celebrate!
