VD Pillow Talk
Blurry scan of the cover of an anti-VD mix CD I made back in 2003.
Happy Valentine’s Day to all. And to those who hate the day, I say this: Valentine’s Day is a Christian corruption of a pagan festival involving werewolves, blood and fucking. So wish people a happy Horny Werewolf Day and see what happens. –Warren Ellis
T-minus 45 minutes and counting to San Francisco’s third annual Valentine’s Day Pillow Fight! Play nice, kids. Attendees are highly encouraged to post links to their photos and bloggings of the event here.

I helped organise a good one in Manchester right before Xmas ’06. Unfortunately we decided to hold it in the Victorian square right outside the town hall, which we didn’t realise at the time was sometimes used for posh weddings at weekends.
I tried to explain the concept of serendipity to the bride in terms of her photographic records of the day. But it actually took 15 minutes to get her to stop yelling hysterically.

My sweetie and I had a wonderful view of all the action as we ate dinner two stories above….pillows were still being flung at 9pm when we finished. I believe there will be drifts of feathers floating through downtown for many days to come.

Kung Foodie, that must have been so awesome! Love your site, btw.
Mark, those photos of the pillow fighting in front of your Manchester Bridezilla are hilarious. Thanks for sharing. I didn’t make it to the SF one this year due to an appt in Oakland, but my friends, touristing from Boston for the week, decribed the aftermath. “Everywhere we went there were ruddy-cheeked folks with pillows. Everyone was glowing.” And now my friends are seriously considering relocating here. :)

I was still coughin up feathers from LAST year! I got tons of good photos, I’ll put up the link when I get them posted. There was nothing quite like running through a crowd of thousands armed with a pillow in one hand, and a very expensive camera in the other.
It was pretty brutal, There were armies showing up in formations, pillow thieves in masks, gangups, grandfathers with their grandchildren. The bus I took to get there was filled with people ready and armed with pillows of all colors and types, many pillow fighters on the bus didn’t even speak a lick of English.
It was quite a mix, and my Pea-Coat looked like a chicken costume by the end.
