What’s Zo Wearing? February 24, 2008

As promised, an all-black edition of WZW.

And now, The Zo Curly Hair Nest® instruction – because you all want to look like crazed Zo-hobos. Also known as “Zobos”.

  • WIth a medium-sized curling iron curl approximately 1 – 2 inch sections of hair.
  • Spray each section with hairspray once curled. I use Big Sexy Hair Spray N’ Play brand.
  • Once hair cools finger-com curls so they aren’t uniform spirals
  • Arrange curls on head, using bobby-pins to fix them into place

And there you have it.

Shrug: Forever 21?
Scarf: $10 Uniqlo, NYC

One from the coincidentally-appropriate-files: I’ve got a cover of Sparklehorse’s “The Most Beautiful Widow In Town” on loop.

(PS. I thought umbrellas only glowed in Bladerunner. Perhaps I need to get out more?)

  2. Nile Says:

    Well, that’s brightened my day.

I live in hope that our local Goffs in London will seek out the contemporary rather than pasticheing the glorious past.

Meanwhile, as I stride to work in pinstripes and a bowler hat (some of this is true) I shall carry a hidden reminder of my inner nature: my oh-so-respectable banker’s umbrella will conceal a GLOWING SHAFT.

GAH! Bladerunner umbrella! I love it… Where can I find one?

Also, I love the scarf. Very neat stripe-y/texture-y thing it has going on there.

  4. Red Scharlach Says:

Well, all black totally suits you. Pretty stuff.

    you look great

Hey! I used to have those shoes but I sold them on eBay…as I tend to eventually do with everything I own. I call it “wardrobe recycling,” so I can always spend a fairly constant amount on clothing.

Any specifics on those shoes? Brand, model, etc?

i was disappointed to hear you will be desisting in the operation of this series, as now i have nothing to do with my sundays.
    maybe i’ll take up church.
still, i am impressed with this recent turn to a subtler pallette, and look forward to the next few weeks with unreserved glee.
i am particularly transfixed by the little dangly curl beside your right ear.
    awesome sauce.

  9. Gala Says:

Love the shoes, bebe. I know what you mean about the all-black thing, it’s a look I seem to have reverted to recently as well. Did you see my article on Neogoth? ;D

  10. Tequila Says:

@Gala…looooove your blog/site…big fan. You too pulled off the all black look exceedingly well.

Zo, Stop making your hair so hard to draw :P

The all black look works well when you mix in so many different textures it seems. I like it…especially the scarf. I don’t know if it’s the contrast in the images or just the cut of the clothes but the outfit comes off as “alive” in the sense that you sort of ignore the fact it’s all black easily…it looks very natural opposed to the usual “look at me I’m wearing all black” look.
