What’s Zo Wearing? February 17, 2008

I’ve been feeling sort of… understated. As understated as one can remain with cobalt blue hair and eyebrows, anyway. Seriously, it’s gettin’ crazy. In another effort to make some sense of my belongings I’ve organized my wardrobe shelves by black, grey and color. The black pile, she grows. The rest is dwindling. What could it all mean?

Peeps, I have entered another era, an era of DARKNESS. Frankly, all i want to wear these days is black. This means two things:

1. I’m looking extra-fetching; everyone knows black is the ultimate in sleek stylish goodness.
2. WZW as you know it is drawing to an end.

Yes, it’s true, my dearest squids and squidlettes. I suspect you don’t want to look at me decked in clouds of carbon every week, so it is time to take an indefinite break. I may return with sporadic make-up and hair tips or random news stories, and if I do find an occasion to WZW once again I shall.

What’s that? Oh no, you promised you wouldn’t cry! Please, I.. I can’t bear it!

Well, okay. Just to ensure you know precisely what you’ll be missing after this week there will be a few more all-black installments What’s Zo Wearing. Just for you, you hear? I’m doing it for you.

But… I liked this stuff for expressions, nice poses and stuff like that, I don’t care if it’s all black you are wearing.
Though, Like every other thing in life, you better not force it, or it will become lame.
So we shall see, if there will be more when darkness passes. :)

  2. DJ Velveteen Says:

Era of darkness indeed, lil Ms. Rodgers-and-Hammerstein. We all know that last face is the one you make when the photographer won’t delete the photo he got of you clicking your heels like a Newsies extra.

i’m so curious as to where that looking glass necklace came from to reach your ebay seller. i have the same one, i found it in a junkshop as a little girl, and i’d be curious to know the origin.

  4. Elit Alice Says:

the second last photo is priceless. :)

  5. meeks Says:

well shit, son, my wardrobe is 90% black and gray with a few accents of color. you leave those of us with more “understated” tastes without inspiration and hot pictures.

i wiggle the finger of shame at thee.

  6. Vivacious G Says:

Delightful photos as always! I love how you look like you mean business yet not take yourself too seriously. For me, black and grey just feel “safe”.

Awww. That’s too bad! I always look forward to WZW every Sunday, but I guess I’ll have to find something else to look forward to…*tears*

  9. kely Says:

i am really really going to miss these, but you can’t force it…so yeah…..
i just want you to know how much i enjoy these posts.

  10. Tequila Says:

Awww man…WZW will be missed though I can’t say an ALL BLACK edition would be a bad thing. I’d dig it and I’d read it.

That necklace is a beauty…but…those shoes! Fetishy is a good word for them, I like the shiny factor and how they contrast with everything else.

2nd to last Photo…if you ever make a book of WZW that MUST be the cover :P

  11. A. Says:

But… the vest! The jewellery! It’s so awesome.
I am really going to miss this since I have been following since you started and haven’t missed a single one :(

All black or not I’d like to have my weekly WZW anyway.

  12. Mark Says:

I propose a ‘Coilhouse massive’ tribute thread by way of a TTFN… ;)

  13. paul blume Says:

…but you know, there are a multitude of shades of black. Anyway, you’re not completely in black, are you?
Never will be with that hair.

  14. Mark Says:

By the way Z, how do you get along with white? On the rare occasions I’ve suffered a pang of regret at the general proliferation of black and grey in my wardrobe – but when I still can’t quite reconcile myself with the lime green or whatever – I have now and then turned to white. When worn quite prominently, it actually has an oddly similar effect to black in terms of how it makes me feel. Other people I know have reported feeling…well, the opposite. Just curious.

  15. alumiere Says:

i understand about not forcing it, but like many of the others here i wear all black or nearly so quite often (i think it goes w/ being a 40+ freak w/ a purple mohawk)

point being some tips on making more muted palattes stylish would be excellent (and please do offer a tutorial on makeup? i am sooo not a girl in some ways and i totally suck at the whole makeup thing)

  16. Zoetica Says:

You have all touched me inappropriately, and for this I thank you.

Let it be known that fashion remains one of my several muses, and I am not forsaking it, no. Rather, I want to re-format a bit. It’s time, I’ve been doing WZW on SG for over a year and it feels right to take a break and change things up a little.

Mark – Sometimes I do wear white, but it’s an odd color for me. My skin has olive undertones thanks to Mongolian blood so it all depends on how tan I wish to look.

Paul B. – you make a good point.

Mister VAC – hello and welcome.

Remember there are 3 more all-black WZWs coming your way before said break is taken!

  17. tDIYm Says:

you ALWAYS look so great. i don’t think black is going to change that.
